movie idea: gwendoline christie plays a pirate captain. lucy liu is a naval officer sent to bring her to justice, but falls in love instead & defects the navy to join her in a life of benevolent piracy. they don’t die they live happily ever after. also there are mermaids & john boyega is one

Ok so I saw this post earlier but had stuff to do before I could reblog it, so I had way too many ideas in the meantime and here they are:

What if Gina Rodriguez and Samira Wiley were members of Lucy Liu’s naval crew and their tough and practical regional admiral was played by Gillian Anderson? Initially they’re all upset by Lucy Liu defecting, but over time they grow tired of the patriarchy too and start undermining the king’s efforts (conquest and personal glory) from their positions within the navy.

Also there’s a rival pirate gang in a second movie, captained by Ming-Na Wen, with Pedro Pascal as her first mate? And maybe John Cho and Brandon P Bell work with Gillian Anderson? And then maybe Tricia Helfer fits in somehow, like she’s Ming-Na Wen’s ex but no one knows whose side she’s on now? And Stephanie Beatriz is a scientist trying study the mermaids?
