okay. your ask comes in perfect timing bc i was debating w myself whether to make or not to make a fic recs page but now i know what i have to do. in the meantime, i can link you to my Absolute Favorites, a top 13 of sorts:

1. into that good night by nonymos: the stevebucky interstellar au you never knew you needed and the Most Important Piece of Literature of Our Era™. 
   
2. united states v. barnes by fallingvoices and radialarch: a judicial drama that describes the trial against bucky barnes for his crimes committed as the winter soldier following the events in cap 2. (i have no words to describe this piece. it’s pure perfection).
   

after the previous two fics this list follows no particular order:

• the man on the bridge by boopboop: this one is an ongoing series but this specific part is a 107k words piece that could’ve been made into a cap 3 movie bc it is That Good.
  
• our golden age by augustbird: a royalty au in which bucky is the crown prince of the usa and steve still becomes a hero.
  
• politics and animals by kryptaria and rayvanfox: bdsm and light D/s dynamics au so mind the tags and warnings. also, imo this is the piece that best describes and explains bdsm etiquette. a true wonder tbh.
  
• is it pretending if i already want you? by ohcaptainmycaptain: the best fake-pretend boyfriends au. that’s it. 
  
• listen to your heart by cinnamoncake: greek mythology-modern era au in which bucky is hades and steve is persephone. one of the sweetest pieces i’ve read.
  
• your favorite ghost by augustbird: one of the best and most realistic post-catws fics. also it’s written by augustbird (yes, ‘our golden age’ author) so that is like Quality Guarantee™.
  
• i love you like rlb by tolieawake: this is a ‘short’ piece in comparison w most of the ones listed so far but i stg you won’t regret reading it. it’s one of the cutest fluffiest happiest fics i’ve ever read.
  
• my dear by vulcansmirk: another one of the best post-catws pieces. also, i Love Love Love this author’s writing style.
  
• cross this river to the other side by defcontwo: epistolary-social media formatted piece in which sharon carter finds the goodbye letters the howling commandos wrote to their loved ones in case they died. (so. many. tears.)
  
• out of the dead land by emilyenrose: post-catws fic in which bucky tries to recover while fighting machines that look and act like humans.
• tin soldiers by idrilka: another social media formatted piece that describes the academia’s and the internet’s reaction to steve rogers’ return to life.
